There has been a steady growth of the number of ziplines in California. This video report from a Los Angeles TV station takes viewers on one up in Big Bear, and you can see what it feels like from his “helmet cam.”
Maybe during your next Big Bear getaway, you can try this out. It’s just one of the five (count them, five!) zip lines operated by Flying Bear Zip Lines in Big Bear Lake. By the way, it appears that Flying Bear was set up in order to preserve the land in a more rustic state — to keep the land from being developed into condos or other Big Bear lodging. That is, this is a conservation company masquerading as an adventure company. Pretty cool, eh?
